I thought I’d follow on from the previous post on painting a skull with watercolors with this attempt at Freddy Kruegers head. Starting with the loose colors and working backwards by inking last I thought it might be another quick and cool experiment and as usual I documented the steps as a process you can take a look at below.

The finished drawing itself doesn’t look like Freddy Krueger, but I still had fun having a go at creating it.

How to draw a Day of the Dead skull here now and we are going to sketch an example and then color it in too once inked. Day of the Dead skulls look very decorative with all the swirls and colorful patterns you can try and draw on the skull design itself.

Inking them now we try and make the skull design more clarified and concise for the colouring stage of this drawing tutorial.

How to draw Pikachu a Pokemon that is regarded as one of the more popular Pokemon characters from the popular cartoon. I am at the moment toying with the idea to draw lots of other Pokemons too which might be cool, even though I’ve never really watched the cartoon.

Now onto the coloring stage. I am using these really cheap Gall Paintastic pens which have a brush tip and these were ideal for coloring this Pikachu drawing. Lets look at the simple coloring process below.

how to draw a punisher skull

First attempt at drawing a Punisher skull

How to draw a Punisher skull step by step. Firstly, the Punisher skull has changed forms over the years in the comic books and really there are just too many skulls to try and draw based on different Artists interpretations and subsequent updates on the Punisher skull design.

But this particular skull design is easily recognizable and so we shall start to draw this step by step so follow along!

The Punisher Skull is the emblem that is supposed to mean something for Vigilante justice according to the Marvel character The Punisher and so it’s this image that really needs to stand out as a white skull.

I’ve also took the time to re-draw this in video form if you want to follow along with that if you prefer.  How To Draw A Punisher Skull

Drawing a Grim Reaper here was mainly about trying to capture the classic look of the character. The skeletal figure, the scythe, the robe and a lot of dark shadow in the folds of the robe was key.

In the following study of how to draw a Grim Reaper we will look at drawing the Reaper in different ways too as well as link to previous attempts along the way. Like anything drawing certain things gets better each time you try and draw it.

When inking the Grim Reaper drawing I was keen to mix and match different ink pens along the way. So I used a 0.5 uni-pin fine line ink pen for the basic outlines and details and smaller details I used a thinner 0.1 uni-pin ink pen. Also a thick StaRedi Accu Liner for the darkness in the robe and hood.

Drawlloween Drawing Challenge 2014 #drawingchallenge #halloweendrawingchallenge

Saw the image below about a Drawing challenge on Facebook which I thought would be perfect for Halloween in which you have to draw each image listed on the day for every day of October. I will start this a bit late this year, but every year we could do this drawing challenge and see what we can come up with. Sound like fun?

How to draw a black Cat for Halloween or anytime of the year. I preferred to go my own way with drawing this cat and that meant not having the added pressure of trying to draw it as a realistic sketch.

Hopefully you can gain some useful insight into drawing a black Cat.

The first gallery here is about sketching the black Cat from scratch and working out it’s pose. Separating this process from the inking stages was vital to divide it from the drafting steps.

Now the inking of the Black Cat I wanted more of an inked sketchy feel to the Cat illustration and so I chose a couple of Uni-pin fine liner ink pens to ink the whole Cat drawing. Here are the steps if you want to follow along and draw something like this yourself.

The concept of drawing a lizard dog happened to just enter my mind one day, so I thought about sketching some possibilities and then went on with the sketching process a few times and ended up right where I started. Fun sketching times was had by all. Lets take a look.

How to draw a Lizard Dog step by step the first attempt. You can study these steps and see the details of what changes in each individual step of the sketching process by clicking on the first image and clicking through the slideshow.

Now on to the inking of this Dog Lizard drawing, so it’s a case of trying to make sense of your initial pencil lines and create something good from your pencil sketch drawing. I used a uni-pin fine liner ink pen both 0.1 size for the thinner ink lines and size 0.5 for the majority of the ink lines.

Start by inking the head first as this is the main part of the creature design

Inking the front legs now and try to clear up the claws on the feet, make them more detailed if possible

Inking the spine and and rib cage and other extra details to the Lizard Dog

I suppose the combination of two types of animal Reptile and Canine help to create a unique looking fantasy creature, so it’s always worth a try to draw something like this.
